Bridging the Digital Divide

Empowering Rural Madagascar with Technology

For the majority of their time studying for success and progress, Nofy i Androy (NiA) students often have no choice but to study under candlelight due to poverty and the unreliable, frequent power outages in southern Madagascar. Even though NiA’s center has solar panels installed, these challenges still impact students during their intensive tutoring and study sessions as they prepare for national exams.

Young women in rural Malagasy communities remain determined to complete their assignments despite the lack of electricity. Their resilience and dedication to education highlight the challenges faced in communities without reliable infrastructure.

Why Donations Matter

This reality underscores the urgent need for sustainable energy solutions, like solar panels and reliable lighting, to support students in their educational journeys. With your support—whether through monetary donations for purchasing technology or in-kind donations of used or new devices, software, and hardware—we can ensure these students achieve their goal of higher education and a brighter future.

We Accept:
  • Laptops & desktop computers (new or used)
  • Tablets, cell phones & mobile devices
  • Keyboards, software & hardware
  • Any tools that make studying more productive (solar panels, solar powered power banks, etc.)

These resources transform late-night study struggles into opportunities for growth, empowerment, and success. Plus, they don’t just support students—they also equip NiA’s staff, administrators, and tutors, who work tirelessly to guide students toward passing their national exams at all three levels.

Our Vision

Can you imagine rural women in Madagascar having access to the internet and technology? Who could they become?

For many of our students, volunteers, and staff in Madagascar, life before Nofy i Androy meant no access to tablets, computers, or the internet—largely due to the absence of electricity and technological infrastructure in their communities. Now, we're on a mission to change that by introducing permanent internet access and technology to our facility.

Why This Matters

Empower Students

Internet access opens doors to knowledge, creativity, and new opportunities.

Improve Programs

Enhanced technology enables better support and education for the youth we serve.

Advance Community

Bridge the digital gap and provide essential tools for modern development.
